The Top 10 Moments for Felt Athletes in 2017

We’re counting down the top 10 moments of 2017 for Felt athletes! There were countless race wins by Felt athletes around the world, both at the professional and amateur levels. Here are some of the most exciting victories, achievements, and moments in the lives and careers of Felt pro athletes.

SHO-AIR TWENTY20 PRO CYCLING WINS CASCADE CLASSIC: The Sho-Air TWENTY20 pro women’s cycling team is one of Felt’s longest running partnerships, and we’re proud to support women’s racing. The squad had a terrific season of racing in 2017, with one of their highlights being Allie Dragoo’s incredible overall victory at the Cascade Cycling Classic.

TRIATHLETES JOSH AMBERGER & ASHLEIGH GENTLE HAVE BREAKOUT SEASONS: Triathlon power couple Josh Amberger and Ashleigh Gentle each enjoyed a stellar racing season in 2017. Amberger took victories at the Ironman Asia-Pacific Championship and the Ironman 70.3 Calgary event, both of which included new course records. Amberger also made his Kona World Championship debut, where he lit up the race early on during the swim leg, a bright sign of his potential for future success at triathlon’s biggest race. Ashleigh Gentle won her fourth straight victory at the Noosa Triathlon and the fifth win of her career at that prestigious event. Gentle also had an incredibly consistent year, winning the World Triathlon Series event in Montreal, and eventually finishing second overall in the series.

MIRINDA “RINNY” CARFRAE WELCOMES NEW BABY GIRL: Three-time Kona World Champion Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae took some time off from racing in 2017 to focus on starting a family. She and her husband, fellow pro triathlete Tim O’Donnell, welcomed a healthy and beautiful baby girl, Isabelle, into the world on August 22.

HOLOWESKO-CITADEL WINS REDLANDS, JOE MARTIN, BEAUCE, CASCADE & MORE: The Felt-powered Holowesko-Citadel men’s pro road cycling team has long been one of the most consistently successful programs in the pro peloton. The 2017 racing season was no exception. This past year saw Holowesko riders taking overall titles at some of the toughest stage races on the calendar, including the Joe Martin Stage Race, the Redlands Classic, Tour de Beauce, Cascade Cycling Classic, and several other wins over the course of the year.

LARISSA CONNORS WINS LEADVILLE 100 & EVERYTHING ELSE: Larissa Connors is a force of nature, and throughout 2017, she proved it. Her biggest result came at the legendary Leadville 100 mountain bike race, where she stormed to victory aboard the all-new Felt Edict. In addition, Connors also took several wins at brutal endurance off-road events like the Grizzly 100, Filthy 50 and Park City Point to Point.

SINA FREI WINS XC MTB U23 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Sina Frei of the JB-Brunex mountain bike team posted several huge wins throughout the 2017 racing season. All of that fine form led to a dominant performance at the biggest race of the year, where she took home the U23 World Championship.

USA CYCLING TRACK STARS WIN MULTIPLE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Felt athlete Chloe Dygert had another stellar season of racing in 2017. This included a hugely impressive win in the individual pursuit at the Track World Championships. Dygert also led the U.S. Women’s Team Pursuit Squad to a world championship title, as well, along with fellow Felt riders Jennifer Valente and Kelly Catlin.

NICOLA ROHRBACH WINS ROC D’AZUR: Swiss mountain bike and cyclocross rider Nicola Rohrbach is always a steady performer in whatever race he enters, a testament to his versatility and fitness. In 2017 he posted several terrific results, including a hugely impressive win at the famous Roc d’Azur mountain bike race.

WOUT VAN AERT WINS CYCLOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Belgian superstar Wout Van Aert entered the 2017 cyclocross world championships looking to defend his title aboard his Felt Fx race bike, and he did just that. Van Aert fought hard throughout the day over a rough and muddy racecourse, eventually taking the lead and never looking back. Will Wout secure a third consecutive world title in 2018? Few would bet against him.

DANIELA RYF WINS THIRD CONSECUTIVE KONA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP: Daniela Ryf is currently the greatest triathlete in the world. Period. This year, she won her third consecutive Kona World Championship—the fifth straight world title for the Felt IA race bike in the Women’s division. Ryf also won the 2017 70.3 World Championship, her third career title in that distance. There is seemingly no end to the Swiss athlete’s dominance in the near future, which begs the question, could she one day become the greatest of all time? Lofty expectations aside, look for Ryf to continue her winning ways in 2018.
