Chloe Dygert will not stop winning world championships. After the 2020 UCI Track World Championships wrapped up earlier this month, Dygert's career haul of rainbow jersey reached double digits. She now has 10 in her collection. The American star had one of the most dominant performances in the whole competition, capped off by a superlative effort in the individual pursuit. In qualifying, she posted the fastest time and broke her own world record, stopping the clock in a time of 3:17.283. In the gold medal race, she went even faster aboard her TA FRD bike, posting the fastest time in history at 3:16.937. But that wasn't Dygert's only winning ride of the event.
Dygert was also part of the four-person women's team pursuit squad for Team USA. She was joined by compatriots Jennifer Valente (who also took home a silver medal from the scratch race), Emma White, and Lily Williams. As the silver medalists from the previous Olympics and winners of three of the previous four world championships, Team USA were among the favorites to take another title in Berlin. And they didn't disappoint. They set the fastest time in qualifying, then beat a powerhouse Great Britain squad in the gold medal round, finishing in a time of 4:11.235. After the race, the Americans dedicated their win to their fallen comrade Kelly Catlin, who tragically passed away the previous year.
